Reconstructing Spatiotemporal Dynamics in Hydrological State Along Intermittent Rivers

چکیده

Despite the impact of flow cessation on aquatic ecology, hydrology intermittent rivers has been largely overlooked. This resulted in a lack monitoring projects, and consequently, datasets spanning period sufficient duration to characterise both hydrological extremes. report documents an investigation into potential for statistical modelling simulate spatiotemporal dynamics flowing, ponded dry states internationally rare state dataset. The models presented predict unrecorded data with performance metrics exceeding 95%, providing insights relationship between ponding prevalence simulation this ecologically important intermediate drying flowing conditions. work demonstrates intermittence be simulated areas where are often sparse, opportunities quality control infilling. further understanding processes driving will inform future water resource assessments influence climate change intermittence.

Changes in Water Chemistry Along the Course of Two Rivers with Different Hydrological Regimes

Chemical composition of water and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) levels were investigated over three years, along two large rivers in NE Poland, with different hydrological regimes. One river was from lakeland and the second a typical lowland river with forests and high contributions of peatlands in the catchment. The study involved hydrological (specific runoff, river discharge) effects on the...

Reconstructing complex networks with binary-state dynamics

The prerequisite for our understanding of many complex networked systems lies in the reconstruction of network structure from measurable data. Although binary-state dynamics occurring in a broad class of complex networked systems in nature and society and has been intensively investigated, a general framework for reconstructing complex networks from binary states, the inverse problem, is lackin...

Spatiotemporal food web dynamics along a desert riparian upland transition

Increased awareness of spatiotemporal variation in species interactions has motivated the study of temporally-resolved food web dynamics at the landscape level. Empiricists have focused attention on cross-habitat flows of materials, nutrients, and prey, largely ignoring the movement of predators between habitats that differ in productivity (and how predators integrate pulses in resource availab...

Utilization of Intermittent Preventive Treatment of Malaria by Pregnant Women in Rivers State, Nigeria

BACKGROUND This study was conducted to assess the level of intermittent preventive treatment of malaria in pregnancy (IPTp) in Rivers State, Nigeria, to identify obstacles prohibiting utilization in order to make recommendations for improved uptake and malaria control in general. METHODS A cross-sectional study was carried out in November 2008 among 339 pregnant women and those who had delive...

where 〈si(t̂+ 1)〉 and 〈sj(t̂)〉 can be obtained and calculated exclusively from data, aij are the elements of adjacent matrix and are to be reconstructed, ci and di are constants of node i, P 01 i (t) is the switching probability of node i from 0 to 1 in time t, and F (mi(t), ki) is the dynamic function that depends on the number of active neighbors m of node i and the node’s degree ki. We will co...
